The Batthyány tér – Békásmegyer suburban rail line (HÉV) in Budapest was renewed as part of a European Union grant agreement.

Within the framework of public procurement, our company won the relocation and construction works for the two-sided, opposite passenger platforms at the Aquincum HÉV stop.

It was a serious organizational and professional challenge for us that the work had to be carried out by simultaneously ensuring the uninterrupted provision of train service – in a heritage-protected environment, parallel to archaeological excavations.

The following additional work was carried out in connection with the project:

  • We prepared execution plans for all related areas (railway track, safety equipment, telecommunications, road construction, replacement of utilities, bridge construction) and the documents required for the approval procedure were prepared by our colleagues.
  • At the southern end of the platform we built a pedestrian bridge.
  • We built a railing at the edge of the ramps on the platform.
  • Due to the floor level difference, we built a retaining wall on the amphitheater side of the platform and moved the previous shafts, mountings and platform equipment.
  • The platforms were equipped with a roof.
